About Our Face Paints & Removal, Sensitivity
What paints do you use?
I use only high-quality, professional, cosmetic-grade face paints designed specifically for use on skin. The glitters I use are also cosmetic-grade and suitable for skin application. The main brands I use include TAG Body Art, Face Paints Australia, Fusion and Superstar. My supplies are mainly sourced from Auckland-based BodyFx.
Who can be painted?
I can paint kids over 2 years old. Smaller children can have a small design on their arm, hand or leg. I am not able to paint anyone who has a contagious illness, or who has open sores or wounds. Alternatively I can offer small designs on hand.
Face painting is for children who are happy and willing to participate. I’m unable to paint anyone who is upset, crying, or being forced, as it should always be a fun and enjoyable experience.
While allergic reactions are extremely rare, but can occur. I cannot be held responsible if a reaction occurs after the parent or guardian has given their consent.
Are face paints suitable for sensitive skin?
My face paints are professional, non-toxic and skin-safe. However, as with any cosmetic product, reactions can occasionally occur. If your child has sensitive skin, allergies or a skin condition, please let me know before the event. A small patch test can be provided if needed.
Parents or guardians are responsible for informing me of any known allergies, sensitivities or skin conditions before face painting begins.
How do I remove face paint?
These paints are water based. You can remove them with water or a good quality wet wipe. Most of the paints are easy to wash off, however some colours can be a little harder to remove. For these I recommend to use coconut oil/olive oil/make up remover. I recommend to clean the face before going to bed.
However these are safe paints, take extra care not to wash the paint into the eyes. If the paint goes into the eyes, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water. Please see the Safety Data Sheets: TAG, Fusion Body Art , Powder glitter, Bio-Glitters
Booking, Cancellation & Insurance
Do I need to provide anything for setup?
No, I bring all equipment needed, including tables, chairs and supplies. I can paint indoors or outdoors. For outdoor events, I only require a covered area in case of rain or shade during hot sunny days.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
I highly recommend to read my Terms & Conditions before booking. You can find it in several places, under the contact form, in the FAQ, in my emails you got, on your invoice.
Cancellation policy: If a booked party/event is cancelled $30 cancellation fee will apply. In case of last minute cancellation or modification (within 5 working days of the event date) the full amount of the quote is non refundable to cover the time loss.
For booking in November/December, deposit is 50%, and it is considered as cancellation fee if the event is cancelled after booking. In case of last minute cancellation or modification (within 5 working days of the event date) the full amount of the quote is non refundable to cover the time loss.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have public liability insurance to the sum of $1,000,000.
What happens if the venue does not allow face painting for some reason?
It is the host’s responsibility to ensure that the venue permits face painting. If face painting cannot be provided due to venue rules, restrictions, or management decisions on the day of the event, and the artist has attended as booked, no refund or reduction in fees will be given.
Other Services: Balloon Twisting & Belly Painting
Do you do other entertainment as well?
Yes, I do balloon twisting and belly painting for baby bumps:)
Balloons are simple and fast designs to avoid long waiting. I offer this entertainment for over 3-4 years old children. Little ones may bite the balloons which is not safe because of the risk of swallowing small parts. As kids will keep their balloons after the party too, it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure children don’t swallow any parts.
Belly painting is a unique way to celebrate the wonderful journey of motherhood! But what is it exactly? – Read more in this section: Belly Painting
How many balloons can you make on a party?
Depending on the design I can make about 15-20 balloons in half an hour. When you book for balloon twisting it means each child gets one balloon creation! Accidents happen—balloons may need fixing or may pop, and I’m happy to make a replacement. However, the offer is for 1 balloon per child. Sometimes children ask for a second balloon, but if I start making additional balloons, it wouldn’t be fair to the others. Please understand that it’s 1 balloon per child 🙂 If you’d like, you can always book me for a longer session to accommodate more.
